Marketers Focused on New Customer Acquisition in 2017

Newsflash: There’s a wealth of great information on the internet. I know, this is a groundbreaking revelation.

In order to keep up with our constantly changing industry, it’s important to follow as many publications as you can to best capture a full view of emerging trends, evolving technology and cutting-edge methods our colleagues and peers are leveraging to carry the industry forward.

One of the publications I turn to on a regular basis is MediaPost. Last week Laurie Sullivan published some commentary on what marketers are doing to acquire new customers in 2017 in the appropriately titled, “How Will Marketers Acquire New Customers In 2017?” In the piece, Ms. Sullivan dives into a Dimensional Research survey designed to learn about the tactics marketers will be using in the coming year for new user acquisition. And if that goal sounds familiar, it could be because 61% of marketers surveyed state they are focusing on reaching and landing new users.

The piece goes on to lay out some more interesting takeaways – 68% want to increase engagement with their existing customers, 55% on segmentation and targeting and 50% on reengagement.
